The Arts, Clubs and Sports
Choir
The choir is made up of students who love to sing, and are willing to practise during lunch hours. We lead the school in singing during school masses, as well as special celebrations during the year.
Eco Club
Monsignor O'Donoghue is a very active Ontario Eco School. Students in the Eco club from Gr. 1-8 are involved in environmental education programs that help students to become engaged in practices to become environmentally responsible citizens. It also helps improve school building operations to reduce environmental impacts such as in the areas of waste and energy.
We have monthly meetings. We make an ECO club display, crafts, announcements, encourage litter-free lunches, waste and energy audits and more.
Our school is involved in the Car Free School Days program through Peterborough Green Up. This program encourages students to take their designated form of transport (walking or bussing) on the first Wednesday of each month. It reduces the number of motor vehicles around schools. Walking and cycling to school offers an opportunity for children to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine.
We have garden spaces that are maintained by the club, different classes and parents.
Chess Club
A Chess Club has been being introduced to the students of MOD
